- 17 billion KRW invested into the development of
the Deoksan Provincial Park -
Mountain, famous for the thousand-year-old Sudeoksa Temple, and Gayasan
Mountain will be developed into an eco-friendly healing forest under the themes
of nature, ecosystem, tourism and healing.
On March 3,
Yesan-gun announced its plans to create an eco-friendly healing forest in
connection with the eco-friendly ecological expedition programs and
nature-based learning facilities at the Deoksan Provincial Park, which has high
ecological and scenic values.
For this purpose, the county government
is set to invest a total of 17 billion KRW into the project, which is set to be
completed by 2018. An interim briefing session was held on January 13 to review
the results of the feasibility study on the facility construction and the
ecological observation study conducted at the provincial park.
With a focus
on differentiation, connection and utility under the theme of “slow
eco-forests,” the county government will create an eco-friendly ecological
forest, which coexists harmoniously with the natural environment, as well as
healing facilities and forest, experience-oriented park, and nature
preservation experience facilities. In addition, healing forest and history
experience programs will be in operation upon completing the project.
Deoksungsan Zone, there will be a healing experience trail comprised of a deck
road, skywalk and red clay trail, thematic rest areas comprised of a water
healing center, bird chirping meditation center and Yi Eung-ro artworks trail,
and an eco-entertainment center consisting of a forest water park, playground
and outdoor stage. With the establishment of these various facilities, the
Deoksungsan Zone will be turned into a place of nature, ecology, tourism and
in the Gayasan Zone, a history experience center and an ecological experience
zone, comprised of a tree house, bird observatory, forest of life, and
pungsujiri (geomancy) will be created to captivate the tourists with elements
of history and ecological experience.

projects of our county government one by one including the creation of an
eco-friendly healing forest in connection with Deoksan Spa and Naepo New Town. Through
these efforts, we expect to turn our county into Korea’s finest tourist
attraction where people can find romance and healing.”
